Re: Achabeg, Morvern, Argyl and Ohio Livingston Connection
Also something else: I am wondering what happened to Anne Livingston born to Duncan and Catherine on July 15th, 1804. So far I have found no record of her in the states. She would have been in her mid thirties by the time they all immigrated to the US and she was probably married with her own family...

Re: Achabeg, Morvern, Argyl and Ohio Livingston Connection
Donald,
Another question: Am I correct in assuming that John Livingston of Oneida NY was a brother to Duncan (Catherine) Livingston? And then how does Sarah Livingston, wife of William Burke, fit into our Livingstons or does she?
Hope you are having a great weekend!

Re: Achabeg, Morvern, Argyl and Ohio Livingston Connection
Hey Donald, I'm good :D I hope you are well too? So another piece to the puzzle possibly that I have been considering. The traditional Scottish naming pattern suggests that the fifth daughter is named after the oldest sister of the father. Hugh and Effie had six daughters and the fifth was Anna. I s...

Re: Achabeg, Morvern, Argyl and Ohio Livingston Connection
Hey Donald, I am back at it again and working on my Livingston/Campbell lines (settled in Ironton, Lawrence County, Ohio). I am still sure (although I cannot prove it) that Donald Livingston (Betty's Donald), Angus, Duncan Jr., John and my Hugh are all brothers. A couple questions for you. Were ther...

Re: Ancestry.com DNA Test
Kyle,
I know it's been awhile but if you are still interested I will send you my DNA results. Sorry I have been not doing a lot of genealogy lately because of work so I have not been on here.
Just let me know and I will send you my results.
Thank you,
Kristen Christiansen

Re: Newcomer and descendant of Archibald Livingston
Hey Donald, It's been awhile since I have logged on so I am trying to catch up on all you have written (It's been really busy at work). We do know that Effie and her kids probably landed in Ohio, more specifically, Scioto County after they immigrated to the U.S. because Effie's daughter Margaret (ak...

Re: Which Donald Livingston left Morvern, Argyll in 1851?
Donald, I think that it make sense that if Duncan called Anna his cousin in the letter that Steve provided that most likely they were first cousins. I'm assuming they were close because he chose to write her a letter. Of course, until I can find written documentation there is nothing to back up my b...

Re: Newcomer and descendant of Archibald Livingston
It looks like they started asking how many kids the woman had in the 1890 Census. Of course, that won't help us here because both Catherine Cameron and Effie were dead way before then. And of course it doesn't help that the 1890 census was destroyed by fire.

Re: Newcomer and descendant of Archibald Livingston
Donald, Sorry about the long silence. I was sick and then managed to lock myself out of the forum. I did assume after reading the letter the first time that Anna and Duncan were most probably 1st cousins (also 2nd cousins potentially). I wouldn't be surprised if they were 1st cousins and clos...
