Re: Angus Livingston Anson County, North Carolina
Alex, First on your question, "where is Isaiah Coke buried?" He died in Petersburg, VA in 1862. There is a confederate cemetery there called Blandford Cemetery that has the remains of nearly 30,000 confederate dead. However, the names of only about 2,000 of them are known. Fortunately, I b...

Re: Angus Livingston Anson County, North Carolina
Greetings, This relates to Alex's post of June 2020. I can answer some of the questions Alex asks, and I have some of my own. I will try to get to them with another post later this week. By the way, I believe I have photos of the Vick and Meacham graves Alex' mentions. Steve Bailey sent them to me s...

Re: Angus Livingston Anson County, North Carolina
Alex, I think the 1904 map is very helpful, particularly when it is combined with information from Anson County deeds. I had a nice find this weekend with respect to Sarah Livingston, the daughter of John, who was the son of Angus and the brother of Duncan. Deeds identify Sarah both as the wife of J...

Re: Angus Livingston Anson County, North Carolina
I'm replying to Alex L. Yes, my line runs from John B. Livingston, the second son of Duncan Livingston, the father of your ancestor, Angus M. Livingston. To try to pinpoint the Livingston property, I suggest that you obtain the 1904 map of Anson County, copies of which are sold by the Anson County H...

Re: Angus Livingston Anson County, North Carolina
Donald and Alex, I believe that I can generally pin point the Livingston property for Alex. I will need to review copies of deeds and maps, but I feel certain that I can provide some direction. Please give me a week or two to pull it together. Alex, what is your connection to Duncan? Which of Duncan...

Re: Angus Livingston Anson County, North Carolina
Donald,
I may have added a new member to your Parker Livingston cluster, based on the results of a 37 marker test, and consistent with the test results of the Tennessee Livingston who you mentioned to me. I thought you might be interested in knowing this.
Regards,
Don

Re: Angus Livingston Anson County, North Carolina
I am not aware of a 1790 tax record. Angus and John are on the 1815 tax record for Anson County. I have no record of Angus before 1798.

Re: Angus Livingston Anson County, North Carolina
Donald, On June 1, and on September 15, 1819, Angus Livingston conveyed property in Anson County to Duncan Livingston "in consideration for the parental regard he has for his son, Duncan." The records of these transaction are in Anson County NC Deed Book T, pp. 28-30. Both deeds were witne...

Re: Angus Livingston Anson County, North Carolina
Yes, as I stated in my post, John was the oldest son of Angus. I have established this link conclusively. I'll re-post and refer to the document that shows this.
