John Livingstone correction
<t>John son of Angus, died in Tirvagan in 1858, and although his mother's surname is spelt as Hall, the rest of the details of his birth and sibling's first names are exact. From an earlier posting: Angus and Margaret are my known Argyll ancestors. Angus was listed as a Chelsea pensioner (deceased) ...

Angus Livingstone
<t>WOW! This ties together something we haven't been able to sew up from Old Parish Records! Somewhere on this site (and I will have to trawl!) I put down a bit of information from census records from Ulva showing disparate family information from a later census in Blantyre. My theory was that Angus...

RIP Alastair Livingstone of Bachuil
I'll always treasure my day spent with your father and mother on Lismore, and the beautiful home-cooked meal I had with them, and the Gaelic toast over a shot of whisky with your father. I have it on DVD. He was very chirpy and a lot of fun. He must've been about 92 or more?

Billy Connolly a clansman?
It just struck me when I glanced at our CNOC AINGEIL emblem. Isn't that Billy Connolly holding the cross? Can we swab him for DNA?

Life Changes
<t>Well, buddy, no magic words, but having stayed in your home five years ago I can tell you that your wee daughters (at the time!) were gorgeous kids and a total credit to you! I've had a wee life challenge myself. Two weeks ago today I was sitting at this same screen in my new clinic when blood ve...

What exactly is Highland Clan McLea?
<t>Kentucky 1803. This is very early in the piece, and makes it seem more likely to me that your Livingstone ancestor was one of the many, many Argyll highland migrants who crossed the Atlantic in search of prosperity and no English. The Civil War Rebel Yell is thought to have its origins in the hig...

More information about my Family
<t>So it is either 1.) he changed his name from John to James, which I find highly unlikely. 2.)he would be married at the age of 13, which again I find highly unlikely, or 3.) James father John moved to the Parish of Dull from some other location, most likely in the highlands between 1785-1806. My ...
