ANZ Clan Commissioner
<t>Dear Kyle, Good to hear from you! Being spread wide and thin across a vast area of both land and sea. We have met in our email and on this account I'll take no credit as this has been the steady work of Kevin Livingston in Tasmania and John Livingston in Queensland. The society downunder is in a ...

ANZ Clan Commissioner
<t>Dear folks, My time as Lieutenant has completed itself. We need to now agree a potential successor as the first ANZ Clan Commissioner. Once we have our person in mind the Clan will seek their confirmation and appointment by the Young Bachuil. I will make this brief observation. The appointment of...

Documented examples of MacLea/Livingstone
<t>Hello Kay, Good to hear from you! Great information. Records suggest I am related to the Alexander you mention. My family descend from a maternal line of the Mc'Clee family of Raphoe Barony, Donegal. Historical evidence supports the Mc'Clee family as descending from one of the three son's of the ...

The surname Logan
<t>Hello, Looking at what I have at home- Logan is a simple alias for the small Highland clan of MacLennan. The name is derived from MacGille Finnan or the followers of St Finnan. It seems the McLennans were at one stage the custodians of St Finnan's bell. St Finnan's Isle is found at Loch Shiel. In...

Robert Livingston, Placerville, California
I remember a few years back on the Stewart of Appin list- Rob answered my McClay inquiry. Thank you to both the Chief and the Young Bachuil. I wanted to write something to Rob, and this is a very poor attempt at the G

<t>Yes, most folk do not get back pass the 1760's in their Highland research. I have a few lines which end in the 1840's in Glasgow. Lines of those beyond the late 1800's are normally only outlined in local histories of clans and families. Hints are often found if it was the habit of the parish to r...

Donald, You bring an interesting point to the table being one of kinship. In my research of my wifes family from a branch of the Mackay Chiefs. I note that many folk who married possessed a kinship in a range between 2nd to 4th cousins in either agnatic or cognatic lines.

<t>Dear Young Bachuil, I did not find the information here. Rob's research covers records that often belong to pre-civil registration in Scotland. Having references which are outwith their scope in certain parishes. I would like to work towards transcription of the parish microfiche in time. I often...
