Seems like a very interesting double report anyway--definitely tells about something going on. My bet is an experienced local Scottish historian probably could tell you very quickly what is going on in those two parish records. Might be worth finding a contact who's seen that before in Duror?

Duror Parish, Argyll Church of Scotland Records May 15 (1842) "There is a report of marriage between Charles Livingston and Dorothy McColl at Laroch in the Parish" That is a curious way to put it--I wonder if that means an irregular marriage that did not take place in the church itself? K...
