Re: Duncan Livingstone from Cuil Bay
Very difficult to find but Orbiting Books in Hereford,England has a used copy of the K.W. Grant book and can be ordered through Abebooks.com Thanks Donald. I thought I had found 2 copies of it yesterday, so hadn't bothered ordering it, but on checking your post, and then looking back at what I'd fo...

Re: Seeking Newsletter Editor
That's great. I have Word (2011 for Mac, but it can be saved as 2007 for PC) and can use the department's version of Photoshop, or other graphics programs. There's no point in working for a Computer Science Department if you can't hijack what is required. ;) Will keep an eye out for your email. Bein...

Re: Seeking Newsletter Editor
But don't worry--I'll stay on as long as I am needed, even if that means squeezing in my newsletter work in the early morning or late at night. But I'm still hoping to find a volunteer... even if it were just as an assistant. Hi Kyle I'll volunteer to be your assistant and to have you train me and ...

Re: Duncan Livingstone from Cuil Bay
I have from time to time speculated on a Ballachulish origin of Dr. Livingstone's family prior to his grandfather Neil Livingston ending up in Lettermore, Mull in the 1770's and subsequently the Isle of Ulva. I have sometimes wondered if Dr. Livingstone's great grandfather who died at Culloden was ...

Re: And Then There Were Four
I'm sorry I missed this post over the weekend - I was too occupied with all the rugby that's being played at the moment to log onto the site. Ginger, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your extended family at this sad time - I too know he will be watching over you and I when we meet and travel...

Re: 30 Free Credits at ScotlandsPeople
I believe we have the Births and Marriages from all Parish\Counties going from 11 Oct 1599 through 31 Dec 1906. Totaling 23,961 entries. We don't have any of the death records yet. Okay, I have some death certificates, and possibly some births and marriages after your 1906 dates. Who can I send the...

Re: 30 Free Credits at ScotlandsPeople
I see on the Scotland's People website that this offer applies only to people from Canada, US, Australia and New Zealand. Those of us who live in the UK, and/or those of us who are already users of the Scotland's People website are not eligible to apply for extra credits. But note that it is new pe...

Re: Dunedin, New Zealand
Hi Kyle You may include anything that you think is interesting - there's nothing specifically Livingstone oriented in it, but some of it our members may find the way we do things of interest. Just realised that I've never set up a webpage and linked it with the few photos that I have - I couldn't ma...

Christina Livingston - born about 1787
My cousins (on my English side) were interested in their Matheson side, so I started researching for them, and found that their gg grandmother was a Christina Livingston, born about 1787 in Applecross, Wester Ross. She married an Alexander Matheson (also known as Alistair, and "the blind fiddle...
