Re: Best Places to Visit in Scotland

From a MacLea/Livingstone point of view Argyll is the obvious starting point, and I agree entirely with Donald and his list of places to visit. It is a magical place and I have been visiting it regularly for many years. There is a lot to see and even after a couple of weeks you would only be scratch...

Re: Scotch Pie

Ooh, what a good excuse! I must remember that when next I eat a really sinful and fattening Scottish delicacy that I am "immersing myself in the culture"! You could say that about cranachan for a start.

Re: Scotch Pie

I don't make my own bridies. In fact we have them very, very rarely. I espied them while I was waiting for the butcher to cut a joint of lamb for me and, in a moment of weakness, bought a couple. My excuse: well, it was a horrible, cold day; Brian was attending a funeral and I reckoned we deserved s...

Re: Merry Christmas

A Happy Christmas and very best wishes for the New Year to you and your family, Niall, and to all MacLea/Livingstones worldwide. Peace and good health to you all.

Hope that your electricity holds out for you, Niall. Ours has --just, although the lights have flickered dangerously once or twice.

Re: Happy St. Andrew's Day

Hi Ginger,

So glad the skirt is still doing the rounds and that you had a great St. Andrew's Night. I think how you manage to come home with haggis inside your bra is one of life's great mysteries; sleight of hand must be definitely involved though!

Slainte Mhath!

Re: Viking find at Ardnamurchan

Probably quite a lot, Donald. Thank you for posting the Daily Mail article about the Viking boat burial, Kyle. I only found out about it when I watched the Scottish news yesterday evening, but the BBC said nothing about it being a boat burial. For interest's sake, there was a splendid boat burial di...

I am so sorry to hear about your Grandfather, Ginger. You and all your family are in my thoughts and prayers at this very sad time for you all. Do please pass on my condolences to them, particularly to his immediate family.

Hi Jay

I did, in fact, send you the latest issue of Parnassus on 8th August, and I will resend it to you just as soon as I have finished posting this note. Let me know if you do not receive it.
