Re: Perthshire Parishes
Before I go from Perthshire I'd like to say I found Patrick Livingstone c. 1750 and his brother John c. March 6, 1757 in Saint Martins, Perth; sons of Patrick Livingstone and Margaret Bowie. Patrick died in Robeson City, North Carolina in 1832. Patrick's name came-up when we were discussing the Par...

Re: 1665 Donegal Hearth Tax: Relevant Names
Hi Niall A bit of an update on some of the lines being discussed: 1. The McClays of Donegal have a distinct DNA signature which we nickname "MacWho" which is shared by a Livingstone family that lived near Glamis, and was often recorded in registers with spellings like Livitch. They also ha...

I have just made a change on our R1b results page: http://users.skynet.be/lancaster/Maclea_Livingston%20R1b.htm I believe I have made a safe extraction from our "master list". Remember that project? It never went away and there is now a google docs master list hidden away which we are now ...

Re: My Livingston(e) Line
I am not sure if this will help because it is much later than the time scale you are researching but I have two families of Livingstons who lived and worked in Ballachulish from 1872 onwards. They were Duncan Livingston married to Minnie Johnson (b. Appin) and Alexander Livingston married to Christ...

reminder: for now keep checking the Yahoo group also
Hi everyone Just a reminder that this clan forum is still new and being developed, so for DNA discussion it is still not ideal for me to make announcements and start discussions about people's new results here because there is no "members only" section. (Not everyone feels the same about t...

Re: My Livingston(e) Line
Can I make some cards with the URL on them? Do I need permission to do that and give them to Livingston(e)s McLea's etc that I meet? Are there already some available I can download and print? We haven't made cards yet, but please do download and distribute to any and all interested parties. If you ...

Re: Tips for researching around 1750-1800
Donald I am guessing Alan is not checking in on the forum frequently, so just to confirm a few things: 1. Yes, Alan is a close match to the Bachuil line, and not the Dr Livingstone line. 2. Concerning Dr Livingstone's uncle John, see this old posting on the old forum by Rob: http://www.clanmclea.co....

Re: Canongate Register of Marriages 1564-1800
Hi Roberta, Cannongate is somewhere around Edinburgh isnt it? Right in the middle of it, a short walk from the castle. My own Livingstone ancestor was married there to Lily Melrose on the 26th July 1838. I believe this record used the spelling Leving. He and his ancestors in Glamis and surrounds we...
