Something else about this new group we found
First of all, to explain our mixed references, the family line Donald and Roberta are discussing is the same group we have mentioned in various places as a line where we needed to have several people test 67 markers before it became obvious that it was distinct. I consider it a major discovery. The ...

Re: Highland Clans and the L21 mutation
Hi Andrew; I am interested in this extended testing. You make it sound very interesting indeed. Is the cost prohibitive? I mean would it cost as much as the 67 markers? Do you think it would benefit my interest in geneaology as far as finding out where in the world my family originated, maybe a tho...

Is "Red Ken" a member of the missionary's family
Some will be interested in this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/features/3632026/Family-Detective-Ken-Livingstone.html It appears that Ken Livingstone's father and grandfather were both named Robert Moffat Livingstone. Robert Moffat was a missionary, whose daughter Mary married Dr David Livingstone...

Re: Updates are being made, plus I call for technical advice
Very interesting.... Andrew, I wonder if it would be helpful to ask around at on the ISOGG or other lists if others have done this for their DNA projects? If so, it's possible the structures already exist that would allow us to just input out data?? Kyle= Hi Kyle I do ask around, but please feel fr...

Re: Updates are being made, plus I call for technical advice
Andrew I would suggest that these results could very easily be input into a database (MySql) on this site. What I can do is give YOU the ability to add or change records. Others could be given various degrees of access according to your groupings. I would suggest that an ability to select the relev...

Re: Highland Clans and the L21 mutation
While the DNA project is very interesting to me, I feel perhaps a bit thick when reading forum posts on the subject. I tried looking up “L21 mutation” using Google – but only found descriptions of when and where it developed – not what it is or how it is discernible. I purchased a layman’s book on ...

Re: Updates are being made, plus I call for technical advice
Thanks Donald
My apologies for needing to ask something I know doubt should have read in various correspondence, but can you summarize the evidence for this link?
I guess what I want to know is whether to word this as a reasonable hypothesis or a proven paper trail.
Regards
Andrew

Updates are being made, plus I call for technical advice
Hi everyone It has been exciting that just as I got to work as promised (end August) the labs seem to have done the same, publishing some unexpected results. Can I ask everyone to look at the public pages, which are "work in progress"? http://users.skynet.be/lancaster/Maclea_Livingston%20R...

Re: My brick wall in Forfar (Angus)
Hi Andrew, Have you found any descendants of Adam Standish Livingstone interested in the DNA project? You would suspect that some of the Macleas, Maclays McLays etc would match somewhat closely to some of the Livingstons in the project. On the other hand some Macleas for whatever reason may not mat...
