Re: James Livingston/Catherina Kuhn ancestry
The DNA results are in--John Scott Livingston's haplogroup is R-M173. The mystery remains, as he is in the ungrouped. Answers one question it seems--not from John of Ancrum. Rules out a James L-Maria Roos connection too I suppose. Wish I could find more descendants of James & Catherina. Also can...

Re: James Livingston/Catherina Kuhn ancestry
Yes, Linda, I am from Jacob & Sarah, as is the gentleman who has agreed to test. I am down from Jacob's son, James, and he is from James' brother John.

Re: James Livingston/Catherina Kuhn ancestry
The problem with James being Dutch or German is that my autosomal DNA results (and my mother's sister whose Orcadian % was 89.76, and MidEast 10.24) show no German at all. My results are: (Continent) Western European (Population) Orcadian (Percentage) 94.28% (Continent) Middle East Population (Popul...

Re: James Livingston/Catherina Kuhn ancestry
Deb,
I haven't heard from Anne for awhile. She is descended from Jacob & Sarah's daughter, Sarah, and I'm down from their son James.

Re: James Livingston/Catherina Kuhn ancestry
Deb,
I have a James Livingston, b 1674 who married a Maria Roos (b 1675) about 1702 in the Netherlands as possible parents to our James. Maria died in Rotterdam, Zuid Holland, Netherlands. His father, William married Ann Veitch 1633 in Rotterdam, Zuid Holland, Netherlands.

Re: James Livingston/Catherina Kuhn ancestry
This is what I have on James & Roby: Was a Methodist preacher from New York state who moved to West Union, IA and became a circuit rider about the time of the Civil War. (Letter from Vern Livingston to Cyrena Jo Livingston, his niece) Sometime after 1840, James and Roby, started traveling. He is...
