Re: Dr. David Livingstone
Upon further and recent research, derived from DNA matches located in Canada, I have discovered that I am distantly related to the Dr. Most of my Scottish Livingstone's were from the Isle of Mull and thereabouts. My 2nd great grandfather Neil Livingstone (wife Ann Cameron from Nova Scotia) was born ...

Re: William Livingstone
Hello Again :-) Thought I would update things. Pretty confident in William Livingstone having been born in Canada and I'm also confident that he didn't give his correct age for census when he came to America. DNA testing has opened my tree up tremendously, after learning how to use the information. ...

Re: Scots to Canada
So.... PEI and Nova Scotia were mainly where they relocated to? Anyone ever see a Livingstone listed anywhere else in Canada? Should it be assumed that research should start in those two areas because of the main influx of immigrants? My DNA results say my ancestors were from the Highlands and Islan...

Re: William Livingstone
Donald, I am back tracking yet again because I still have not convincingly found my great grandfather or his parents yet. I def not one of those folks floating around on Ancestry with a passing part time interest in genealogy that will claim what looks or sounds good..... I have to know for sure I w...

Re: William Livingstone
As a fireman he probably shoveled the coal on the old steam locomotives as opposed to being in the fire department of a town. Especially true if living in a small town as they were usually volunteers. I did not know that... and appreciate the insight. Gives me yet another place to look. Seems more ...

Re: William Livingstone
Is it just me or does Livingston/Livingstone seem like a fairly uncommon name?
I have done DNA testing and uploaded my raw data to 2 other sites and have yet to
run into another Livingstone.

Re: William Livingstone
I am on Ancestry but cannot find anything on this gentleman, he is my paternal great grandfather. Doesn't help that his name is pretty generic. I am currently waiting for results on a FOIA request that I submitted in early February; as of right now, the due date is early April for this request. Ance...

Re: William Livingstone
Hi Greg.... I'm a female and was always under the impression that all DNA studies were only interested in the males, so I have not looked into this. Yes, I live in Montana but I'm from the midwest so there is no connection that I know of to Livingston, Montana .... would have been cool to have lived...
