Dr. David Livingstone's brothers

<t>Somewhere in my wanderings, and somewhere on this forum, I have noted exactly the same thing. There is a website out there somewhere that names all the Livingstones in different parts of Ontario, and definitely Livingstone in his writings that I recall said that there was noone left of his origin...

A very close DNA match with a Stewart

<t>Doesn't surprise me at all. Stewarts of Appin were about 800m across the water from Lismore. My father always used to say that we were "clansmen" of Stewart of Appin; this was the little he had heard from his own father. Funnily, my brother has an uncanny facial resemblance to Rod Stewart the sin...

Great Nephew of Dr. David Livingstone Located

<t>Goodo Donald. Congratulations on making the breakthrough for the clan and finding David Livingstone's Y-DNA, as it were! If we can enroll this chap to have his Y-DNA tested, then that will really help clan research. Apart from your current issues health-wise, which are all valid, it wouldn't hurt...

Great Nephew of Dr. David Livingstone Located

<r>Donald; as a chiropractor, I read with interest your mention of the breathing difficulty and high blood pressure. I know this isn't a column for such things, but from my perspective, having seen many thousands of people over the years, your current difficulties may have a very sound neurological ...

Yet another supposed descendant of Dr. David Livingstone

<t>Bruce, this is very interesting. Your second name Stewart would be possibly in honour of the clan relationship with Stewarts of Appin? David Livingstone himself wrote in his memoirs that his clan relatives from Ulva and Argyll were no longer in their original homelands, having migrated to Canada ...

McLea name variant -- a new one

Another thought is that at that time, Angus Livingston may have been using maternal surname???

McLea name variant -- a new one

<t>I'll have to look on my home computer. A researcher for another family contacted me when she found a posting I'd put up; her friend is a descendant of Angus Livingstone as well, via the daughter Ann. In an email she quoted from some of the birth records for children of Angus Livingston (or McGilv...

McLea name variant -- a new one

Apparently my ancestor Angus Livingstone was recorded on an OPR at one stage as "Livingston, or McGilvra". That's a new one, isn't it?

Angus Livingston(e) and Margaret McPhail descendants

<t>Regular readers of the forum may realize that there is a strong clan association between McPhails and Livingstones, including the family of Dr David, that keeps intertwining from Scotland through to Prince Edward Island and Ontario. Angus and Margaret are my known Argyll ancestors. Angus was list...
