Hello Sam, You must be near the location of the Skirmish of Babylon Hill, where in 1642 Sir Ralph Hopton an officer of Charles I. Stuart, defended against Cromwell's troops. 20 Royalists fell that day. Hopton personally attended on the person of the King at York in July 1642. Hopton was appointed as Lord Hopton of Stratton to the Council of the Prince of Wales. After the execution of King Charles I by the English Parliment in Jan. 1649. Prince Charles was proclaimed King of Scotland as Charles II. I wonder if any claymores were drawn for the Stuarts on that day at Babylon Hill.....! All the best! Grant.
