Hello all, Some advice needed. With the swelling of ancestral pride I have been looking at purchasing some items with clan crests etc, and now I need some guidance. When looking at the shopping link and selecting "our" clan crest I am presented with the "si je puis" crest and not the "Cnoc Aingel" one. Also the tartans are myriad with Stewart of Appin etc thrown in for good measure, and basically I am overwhelmed and under knowledged! Help. For those of us who are confident that our roots began in Lismore, can we use the commercially available "Si Je Puis"? Or is the "Cnoc Aingel" avaialble? Some of the commercial sites offering crests etc list this as the lowland Livingstone crest so I am now befuddled! My intnetion is to purchase some tasteful items to remember the links with the past but am now reticent to do so for fear of revering the wrong crest and tartan. In essence my question is "Which crest and tartan should a descendent of the highland Livingstones be looking to purchase?" Over to you more learned souls, with thanks for any guidance given.

Brilliant news! I look forward to these with relish. Excuse my ignorance but why are all the Livingstone listed tartans relevant to Highland Livingstones, when they also listed for Lowlanders too? Or putting it more politely, if you were to have a black tie outfit made to spice up the normal sorry black tie formal dress exhibited by mere non Scottish-descendent folk (meant as a joke), down here in England, which tartans would you think were the ones to select for a HL? Sorry to press for guidance but an error in selection here and I could have wasted my hard earned coin (see the genes will out!)

Well..... The big question is whether lowlanders would ever have worn tartan. Then you have to ask whether the Livingstones of Callendar (considered Lowland) would have worn tartan - is Callendar north of the Highland Line? Suffice to say that all the Livingstone tartans shown on this website are worn by my family.

Hi, Is there any news on the Crest Badge production? I am really sorry to nag, and wonder if my post has been read, as it is very unusual not to get a reply. If the silver smith is unable to do, or if they are going to be available much later in the year, that's fine. It would be nice to know that is all. My humble apologies if I appear rude or pushing -just excited about the prospect of passing heritage on to the younger ones in the family. My number one son has dual nationality and once he has finished his education here in the UK will reside back in the US. I want him to set up his new life, taking with him the knowledge and pride in what has gone before. he will only be coming back here, for the occasional visit, and these highland crests would be so wonderful to own, and pass on down that new Livingstone line in the USA. Dear Jason, My impression from the Young Bachuil (who can add his thoughts if I am off) is that though the badges are in production, there is no good timetable for when they will be available.

I was talking to thge silversmith on Saturday and things are progressing - but it will be some weeks yet. I haven't approved the model yet!
