Ernie McLea, Montreal Victorias, 1896

Post by Kyle2 MacLea »

Hi all, In doing some recent searches, I came upon references to Ernie McLea, who played hockey with the Montreal Victorias in the 1890s, and in late 1896: http://www.nhl.com/cup/incidents.html "Ernie McLea scored the winning goal in what was modestly called 'the finest match ever played in Canada.'" Anyone know anything of the family, ancestry, or life of Ernie McLea? Kyle=

Kate McLea was my great-grandmother's name. She lived in Montreal around 1900, with her Mother Rebecca, sister Eva, brother Ralph, and there may have been a brother Charles. I don't know of an Ernie, but I'm looking into it!
