Livingstone and MacLea Emigration Registry

Post by Kyle2 MacLea »

Dear Forumeers, If you are a Livingstone, Livingston, McLea, MacLea, MacLeay, McLay, or related name, and your families have emigrated from Scotland somewhere else in this great big world, please add your emigrant family members to the Livingstone and MacLea Emigration Registry! http://MacLea.net/family/registry/ (or http://kitenet.net/~kyle/family/registry/ ) Please list your emigrants in the Register, and you may create any separate pages you like to provide more information on your family.

Livingstone and MacLea Emigration Registry

Dear Kyle I presume that you'll post this on the normal message boards out there on the internet and also the DNA forum? If you want people to help distribute it please say so. Also, I suggest adding Boggs. I believe most Boggs families are now proven Livingstons. (A victory to the DNA project!) Best Regards Andrew

Thanks for the message, Andrew! Yes, please distribute this information on any lists of interest, and Boggs are more than welcome as well.

I have made reference to the Boggs on the front page, and have also created a separate Names page which clarifies that they are more than welcome.

Do we have a list of all variable and related family names any where? I've seen: http://www.clanmclea.co.uk/Surname.htm And I do see them at: http://users.skynet.be/lancaster/MacLea%20surnames.htm But I was wondering if there was a place on this site that had a listing of all the names that are currently associated with the McLea/livingstone clan. Or maybe can we add to this site (for website searchability and focusing this site to be the main clan location with other sites being branches). From Andrews Website I know we are looking at the following names for DNA matches but can someone let me know which names would we want to include in future searches for Clan names/births/deaths/marriages, and which can be excluded as not related to the clan: Levingston

Hi Kyle, Perhaps if we had taken the advice given me that the three of us try and reach a concensus on this and other clan issues up for discussion then we would have made greater progress. I began to initiate exploratory discussions on this and other principal ideas with you regarding the clan, but did not take the next step towards a concensus reaching discussion group because the three of us are too far off for any consensus to happen I believe. But I did support the suggestion that the three of us try to reach a concensus. No doubt it would have been a good idea had it worked out. Perhaps some time in the future we can have such a discussion. I would welcome it. If we could sort out our diffences on other areas then I believe there is a good possiblity we could move ahead on your project as we both share an interest in this Emigration registry which I have always been supportive of and have done some research on.

Hi Kyle, I would welcome a revitalized and constructive dialogue with you, by any means of communication you are comfortable with. Due to health problems I looking at a temporary replacement from within the Petition Committee who is a Livingstone or MacLea familiar with gaelic culture, the clearances and who has a legitimate connection to the Highland MacLea-Livingstones. In the event that I am not well enough to carry on meaningfull discussions with you there should be someone who can continue. Also Kyle we are currently looking for Livingstones from Australia whose ancestors were victims are of Livingstone peasant stock and who were forcibly cleared from their tenant holdings in the 1830's or 1840's. We want to hear your family story because it needs to told.
