I have recently returned from a holiday in the highlands during which we spent three days in Argyll and paid an all too brief visit to Lismore. We were given a lift down the island by a kind Liosach, who obviously took pity on three elderly people (my husband, my cousin and myself) setting out from the ferry. She took us down to the new An Comann Eachdraidh Lios Mor (the new Lismore Historical Society building). If any members of the Forum are visiting Lismore, do go and see it. It is a lovely building and houses a fascinating exhibition about the history and pre-history of the island. Jill

The highlight of the Isle of Lismore Heritage Museum this year is the Viking gold from an armlet circa 8th to 10th century found at Kilcheran. Domhnall

Dear Niall, I did think about it, but we went across to Lismore on the spur of the moment and I felt it was an imposition on your parents to arrive at Bachuil hot, somewhat dishevelled and as total strangers. I would love to meet them, so next time we are planning a trip to Appin I will get in touch beforehand and arrange a meeting if possible. Best wishes, Jill
