Forthcoming Marriage - Hornyold-Strickland/Livingstone of Bachuil

Post by Canadian Livingstone »

Hi Barry, There were branches of the Strickland family that settled in Canada. My Dad had a first cousin on his mom's side that was a Strickland. He always talks about his cousin Stan Strickland. There was also a Canadian pioneer 19th century author Catharine Parr Strickland later known as Catharine Parr Traill that came from a prominentStrickland family back in England I think. regards, Donald

Hi Deirdre, Belated congratulations. All the best from a descendant of Miles Livingston of Morven and the Isle of Lismore. My father's cousin was also a Strickland whose family originated in the North of England, but at some time in the 1800's settled in Canada.
