Livingston - Boggs connection?

I'm kind of new to the study of genealogy so forgive me if I am in error. According to my research of my own paternal line, in the early 17th century two Livingston brothers were exiled from Scotland and took residence in Northern Ireland. At which point they took the name

based on just the snippet that I see currently posted, this sounds like the perfect thing to resolve using the DNA project! You should look up the Livingstone/McLea DNA project, Rob's pages, and find out how to sign up! It could really help resolve whether your conjecture is real or myth... Kyle=

Thanks Kyle. Most of my message got through. Basically I was just saying that family folklore indicates that the Boggs family was an offshoot of the Livingstons. (on further examination it seems the connection might be with the lowland Livingstons.) Hello Kevin, isn't this interesting.I am following up on this as I have read the same as far as being exiled from Scotland and going to Ireland and changing the name to Boggs. Some of the Boggs clan here in New Mexico and Colorado are related to Thomas Boggs who was the closest friend of Kit Carson. A well known mountain man in this area.
