Battle of Bealach nam Broig

I have always wondered what the connection was between these "other" MacLeas associated with MacIvers and those associated with Clan Mackenzie. I assume from the MacLea Manuscript that they probably had some ancient connection. I have not established any connection with the Bachuil Maconleas, but I did find it interesting that the Baron of Bachuil in 1544 went by name of JohnMcIvorMcMaelmoire or something like that. One can not go far with the assertion that the Barons of Bachuil were McIvors or McIvers a name with an obvious Norse origin, but it is interesting to note that the Isle of Lismore was under Norwegian rule for a number of years. Then I noticed that these other Macleas were mentioned with McIvers. Perhaps a coincidence. regards, Donald
