Angus Levingston Lot 55 Upton area PEI b. 1855

There is an Angus Levingston in the 1901 Canadian Census for Prince Edward Island located at Lot 55 where the town of Upton Barry mentioned is located. I dont know whether or not this is Angus he is searching for. He has a son John D. Levingston and they are apparently near or in the Upton area that he mentioned. Angus Levingston

Hi All, I should point out that the birth date for John C should be more like 1879 1871 is a transcription error to be sure. John C Levingston in the 1901 Census obviously is John Colin Livingston listed in the 1881 PEI Census recorded as age 2. Mistakes frequently occur in census records either by original census taker or by later transcribers. Hopefully the rest are ok. regards, Donald

The 1881 Prince Edward island Census states that Angus was born abt. 1856 in Nova Scotia. My hunch is that Angus a Presbyterian was either born in Cape George, Antogonish, Nova Scotia or Boularderie Bras d'or Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. I suspect he may be from one of these Livingston family groups of Presbyterian origin. I also suspect Angus and Catharine were married in PEI since his wife was born in PEI probably in latter part of the 1870's, perhaps in Kings County in eastern PEI possibly. regards, Donald

Sorry there are few obvious Transcription errors in the source and I have therefore attempted to make some corrections which hopefully are correct based upon the 1901 Census.

Yes Donald I think you are correct in stateing that John Colins birth should be June 4, 1879, as on the WWI Registration for him it also says birth June 4, 1879, born Canada. Jewel

This is Barry Judson's great-grandfather Angus Livingston I believe living near Upton as he mentioned in Kings County PEI Lot 55. There was a brother of Angus named John that we found. We did not know about this Catharine age 75 that showed up in the 1881 PEI Census Lot 30 QUeens County. I dont know that she is Angus Livingston's mother or Colin Livingstons wife as we might hope and before we jump to conclusions we have to bear in mind that there is another old Livingstone family in Queens County at this time connected to Donald Livingstone and his wife Mary who settled in the early 1800's at Lot 65 QUeens County. I will see what I can find out about Livingstons at Lot 30 Queens County. The Catharine age 75 in the 1891 Census Lot 30

Hello Donald; Angus Livingstone and wife Annie McLean of West River had these children: Flora May Wood Livingstone b. August 31,1887 John Roy Livingstone b. December 8, 1882. Angus is probably Catherines, 1816-1892, son.
