John Livingston Woolen Weaver: 5 sons 1829-1842

Post by Keith Livingstone Australia »

I am descended from this fellow who appears to have departed the mortal coil b/w 1857 (still appears on son Gavin's marriage certificate) and 1868 (wife's death certificate says widow of above). Any useful leads or info much appreciated. There are 88 possible name matches throughout Scotland's death registry, and 21 in Argyll alone..some of which I've already ruled out. I haven't as yet found out his parents' names or where he was born. I know he married his wife Agnes Edmiston in 1827 when she was 31 (b.1796 appx). He may have been a similar age, or he may have been older (Napoleonic war veteran?) or he may have been cradle-snatched by an older woman. Here are the details I've got back to so far: (from Steve Wilson). John Livingstone married Agnes Edmiston, 28 Oct. 1827, Livingston, West Lothian son Andrew Mitchel Livingstone, bap. 11 Jan. 1829, Livingston, West Lothian son James Angus Livingstone, bap. 16 June 1830, Livingston, West Lothian son John Livingstone, bap. 26 Aug. 1832, Livingston, West Lothian son Gavin Livingstone, bap. 4 Jan. 1835, Livingston, West Lothian son Neil Livingston, bap. 18 June 1842, Jura, Argyll
