Haha! Sounds wonderful, Donald.

I understand your reluctance to publish until that "one more discovery"! I deal with this all the time in my scientific work too. But I think it is better to put out a "1st edition" at some point, and we can always update it/revise it later. This work, and this understanding, you have to put together is too valuable! It needs to be shared!

Hi All

For anyone that is keeping notes on the ongoing Colin Livingston saga.....an interesting relation in the family is a relation to Anne Murray the singer. My GGranfather Angus had a son Malcolm, who had a son Burton Livingstone who was married to Anne Murray's aunt. Her name was Ethel, but I am not sure if her maiden name was Murray. It is interesting that this is a Springhill NS relationship. I know there are other Livingston's in that area and I wonder how Burton met her? I believe Burton Livingston was a retired RCMP officer. He has passed away the last few years. His brother Boyd was the previous Livingston family historian and I have seen many of his notes.

Hi All

The Life and Times of David Livingstone was written by Mrs. J. H. Worcester. It is ironic that my descendent married a Worcester too, Theodore Worcester. Does anyone know anything about the writer Mrs. J. H. Worcester? Was she from Mass. I wonder, or was she from England?

Hi All

I think this pretty much clinches the fact that Katherine was married to Theodore Worcester. Have a look at this page, http://www.islandregister.com/1884bostonships.html, and do a search for Worcester on the page. He was on PEI from Boston.

HI Barry,

That is cool that you found a Catharine Livingston heading to Boston in 1874. Catharine (Mrs Worchester) would be your Great Aunt or something like that wouldnt she. She was Angus Livingston's sister and a daughter of Colin Livingston and Catharine Galileo wasnt she? That was an amazing find actually.

HI Donald

Notice on that same Ship page that Theodore Worcester was on a ship to PEI or from PEI, July 13, 1874. This either was before or after they were married. I'm guessing this was after. There was an Edd Worcester too, which is possibly Theodore's father or maybe their son.

Hi Barry,

Glad you found COlin's wifes last name from their daughters death record. Often especially is death records after 1900 you find they start to get more detailed and some of them list the name of the parents. So if your great grandparents for example died in the 1933 you are very likely to find out the full names of your great-great grandparents on a death record from that later period quite possibly. Unfortunately there were no death records for Angus or John I suspect. Could you not find out where they were buried?

Hi Donald

I know where Colin's son John is buried. He is buried with his son Colin in Dundas United Church cemetery. My aunt has the original obituary cut from the newspaper. I do not know where Angus is buried though. The hunt goes on.

Hi Barry,

The last census I located Angus Livingson your great grandfather was the 1911 Census at Lot 55, Kings County. So he was still alive in 1911 and living in that area. I find it odd the Government of PEI cant produce a death record for someone who died sometime after World War 1. There should be again a land record, a transaction after his death somewhere regarding the lot he was on in LOt 55. That would again happened after WW1 I would imagine but likely before WW1. Figure out where the Angus and Catharine lived at Lot 55 and then see if the PEI archives can help you locate Angus in the land records.

There were no death registered with the PEI government before 1906, however we know that Angus Livingston and his wife Catharine died some years after the 1911 Canadian Census. So I would think there is some chance you could write to the Government of PEI requesting a death record for Angus and Catharine.

Hi All

Here is another Massachusetts death record to mull over....no pun intended. A James Livingston with Parents John Livingston and Catherine Livinston. Would fit for old Kate, but it says she was born in Scotland, and it looks more like John Senior's son.
