Re: My Livingston(e) Line
Thanks Donald. There was so much information so fast and I have been searching the Colorado aspects that it was getting hugely confusing especially since my Grandmother had given me her history at the same time and I was starting to cross those names and stories. You've done a fantastic job here.

Re: My Livingston(e) Line
HI Roberta,
Thanks for that. I have my suspicions that is my great-great Uncle Donald's daughter but I am not sure. Dont have any information on either a wife or family in Beauharnois County or Huntingdon County in Southwestern Quebec for Miles Livingstons son Donald. But the good news is that are some land records, miltary records and probably early census records pertaining to Donald. I also got lucky a found his 1862 death record. From the Lord Selkirks Red River COlony records I know he was born around 1796. the death record indicates around 1800 but heh whats a couple of years off here and there. I am just I found him. The death record stated he was a land surveyor born in Argyllshire Scotland and it is my luck that I knew he gone to Quebec after he left the Selkirk Colony in 1816 and recently I found a legal record which mentioned my ancestor Miles Livingston of Esquesing Township, Halton County and his son Donald Livingston of the Seigneury of Beauharnois so bingo I knew I had found my lost great-great Uncle in QUebec. Also helps that he was the only Donald Livingston that age born in Argyllshire living in South Western Quebec in the mid 1800's. That kinda helped also.
regards,
Donald

Re: My Livingston(e) Line
HI Ginger,
There are a number of Stewart tartans actually. Ann Stewart was likely connected to the Appin Stewarts and Appin Stewarts have their own tartan. Of course since your a highland Livingston the best tartan for you as Jill as stated for you would be Livingston Tartan 1003 which is what our Clan Chief Baron Niall Livingston wears.

HI Ginger,
NO that is about a Donald Livington of a Quebec Canada Livingston family related to me only. Not your Ballachulish family. Sorry for confusion. Your update was done a half hour ago. THe Quebec info has nothing to do with your family line.

Donald

Hi Ginger,
Go back to my earlier posting on page 6 I did tonight of your family line from Ballachulish what I am saying is that I have updated it since you first saw it. It is ok as is I think and an easy to read summary of what we know so far of the family back in Scotland. I thought you guys might find that easy to work with than my first hodge podge notes from last week on page one of your query to your ancestral past.

Donald

HI Ginger,
I think a number of these Livingstons at Laroch village , Ballachulish that attended the St. James Episcopal Church were related and eventually the Maclea Livingstone DNA project may help to confirm that.

Donald
