Kay Lamb to me
show details 1:40 PM (2 hours ago)
Born 1845 to 1856
I have no proof of this daughter except that Eileen Allen Parkman, my
mother, told me that she believed she existed and that she thought she may
have married a Nailor and had a son William. If she lived she died by 1901
for her mother's obit stated there were 5 daughters and 1 son. I have proof
of those and they were alive but Catherine would make 6 daughters.
The census shows a 6th daughter. There was a Kate who went to Mass. who
could be her but I can't prove it.

Hi All
I am more inclined to think that Donald would have been a sister to Old Kate, if Old Kate is from Murray River

Hi All,
This information on the Murray River Livingstons is quite an interesting development in our research of the Mull River Livingstons. The Mcleas are keeping me busy for the moment but I am enjoying what you are all working on.
regards,
Donald

Hi All,
Was Mary ann's great-great grandmother the wife that Duncan wed at Vale Colliery in 1874?
Do you we have records to follow her ancestral line following Duncan and Mary? I mean information on her great-grandparents.
regards,
Donald

Hi Donald;
Yes, Duncan Livingston married Mary Macdonald in 1874 and they had a child Hugh. So do you want me to list the children of Hugh?
Also, if Donald and Ann Wheeler had another daughter; then they had her outside of PEI. I have the official record of all the Baptismal Records to 1902.
Regards;
Roberta

Hi Mary Ann,
Excellent I thought you were descended from Mary McDonald whom Duncan married in 1874 but i was not certain. Well then your family tree and ancestral line regarding Duncan is straight forward. You really just want to know what happened to him after he left Vale Colliery.
regards,
Donald

Re: Nova Scotia/PEI Livingstone Research
Hi Mary Ann,
Yes I think it would be good idea to focus upon the family we know rather than the one we dont. Clearly we have made progress in establishing your family line and connection to that most interesting Mull River family of JOhn livingston Jr. and Old Kate of which Dr. St. Clair had told me about in his e-mails to me a couple of years ago. You should follow up this research perhaps with a trip to Mabou to visit Dr. St. Clair and the area and give him our best. In the 50 years or more Dr. St. Clair has been researching his native Mabou and his Livington family there I think he has pretty much located all the documentation there is on your family with perhaps a couple of exceptions which I think Barry Judson,Jewel Brown and Roberta Livingstone deserves credit for locating for us. Regarding info that cant be found I would suggest to you that if we cant find it there is a distinct possibility it aint there. You might want to start writing this all down in an organized manner and begin working on your own family history.
I often am contacted by people who are doing their Livingston research who have similar genealogy problems to yours actually. I think we all have hit a genealogical brick wall in researching one of our family lines where you just cant seem the find the information you are looking for on a certain ancestor. As I often have said regarding genealogy research sometimes you stumble across a treasure trove of information, other times nothing but more often than not you find what you are looking for.
It has been your great fortune that we have the extraordinary talents of one Jewel Brown and Roberta Livingstone not to mention the fact that Barry Judson who was researching his ancestor Colin Livingston of PEI brought to my attention in his own landmark research the importance of researching these Mull River and neighbouring Whycocomagh Cape Breton Livingstons which we have.

Colin's son John #1, of his children, Effie married an E. Haberlin from Murray River and another daughter married a Davy from Murray River. They lived on the original farm in Forest Hill and I knew their son Vernon as a young boy. Another daughter, Flora, married a Saunders man and lived in Boston.
