Hi Donald;

Excellent; I agree totally. Allan is the grandson of Donald and Mary. I shall try to locate the cemetery in which they are buried. Maybe Barry has some way of looking-up Cemeteries on PEI. There are also some PEI cemeteries listed on the Mull site

Hi Roberta,

ONe way or another we need a detailed plan and info of that cemetery. But all the info that Mr. Collins had for that family indicates that ALlan more or less took over the farm after the death of Duncan b.1772 son of Donald and Mary. He is the farmer of that Nine mIle Creek that we see in the 1881 Census it looks like to me. He cant be some strange Livingston that came out of nowhere after Duncnan died and took over the nine mile creek farm . I think that there was some confusion because David could not find a birth or baptismal record for Allan b. 1814 or 1816 and the fact that the 1881 Census probably inccorectly stated that ALlan was born in Scotland. I noticed Mr Collins considered that being born in Scotland also. There apparently is a 1863 map and and 1880 atlas showing Allan on this property at Nine mile creek and I think Janets wil mentions she was of Nine Mile Creek so I dont know who else ALlan couldl be . So if David Michael Llivingsotn has made a mistake in his research it does not seem to be the NIne MIle Creek portion of it. I have asked him to send me the docmumentation of his great-grandfather who connecting him as son of this ALlan Livingstone of NIne mile Creek. I think you will agree that would be the other important piece of proof we need.

This whole thing is oddly perplexing and very frustrating to all concerned I am sure and I greatly appreciate your help and feedback.

Hi All

I'm not positive, but I'm somewhat confident that the cemetery in Canoe Cove is likely documented at the provincial archives. In 1973 there was funding available from the government for a cemetery project and it is likely Canoe Cove was one of those. I just have to get back to the archives to check that. I'm doing the shifts from hell this weekend and it takes a couple of days to recover. I'm doing the 6pm to 6am shifts this weekend. The maps you are referring to are the 1863 lakes maps, and the 188o Meacham Atlas. The Lakes maps are on the Island Register site.

Would someone mind summarizing the signifigance of all of this. I know it is significant, but I find it a little hard to follow where the two of you are going. Remember I have always felt there are connections with the families in NS and PEI. Wentworth is only a short distance from the NS side of the Confederation Bridge and it seems logical that the lot 65 and Wentworth Livingston's might be related.

Hi Barry;

Just a note to tell you that I am recording the Livingstons deaths in the Wentworth area. One example, following your thinking, about relatives on both sides is Angus Livingston age 21 son of S. Livingston b. PEI. June 25, 1866. Killed by a Blast.. James McLeod informant. He probably worked in a mine. Lots of coal mines at that time from New Glasgow to Amherst. I know relatives of mine left Cape Breton to work in the mines down there.

HI Barry,

Were trying resolve whether or not Allan Livingston b. 1814 or 1816 married to Janet McDonald who was a farmer on a 60 acre farm at the Nine Mile Creek, Lot 65, Queens County, PEi in the 1860's 1870's and 1880's is the grandson of Nine Mile Creek Donald and Mary Livingson of Nine Mile Creek who came to PEI in 1806 aboard the Rambler and is the son of Duncan who had the farm before Allan at Nine Mile Creek up to the 1840's probably. Allan and Janet are buried at Canoe Cove and received the land that Duncan son of Donald and Mary farmed at Nine Mile Creek so I assume he is son though we arent sure there is any documented evidence he is a son of Duncan. Neverless the fact that he inherited the farm from Duncan and his wife or a brohter seems to me to suggest he was his son.

I thought if someone could check and see where Allan and Janet where buried at Canoe COve they could determine that they were relatives of Duncnan and Donald and Mary Livingston. Also we need to trace the ownership of that farm Allan Livingston was on at the time of the 1881 several years I assume before he died. he died in the 1880's I think and I dont think deaths were registered before 1905 in PEI. So a land record check of Allan Livingstone at the archives would be the best thing. I believe the farm was at Nine Mile Creek. I dont know for land records would they have an index with ALlan Livingsstone and his fatther Duncan b.1772 listed. ALso there is an 1863 map which might be onlline or an 1880 Atlas with LOt 65 in it that might have Allan Liivngstons. Something to check perhasp if you cold next time your down at the archives.

Donald

Hi All

Here is a little more on James and Julia Woodland. Looks like he was the pastor of Cavendish Baptist Church. That church is only open in the summer months and I have been it it many times. The summer pastor is a personal friend.

Here is an unknown. I thought the middle name of Cameron would be of interest, considering the Boularderie connection to the Cameron name. I searched through the birth records on the PEI government website and didn't find anything.

Ewen Cameron Livingston

March 13, 1847 born in PEI
Attended Auburn theological seminary

Hi All

I have been corresponding with Kathleen Allen Parkman Lamb and she has been trying to access the forum. She has been having problems registering. Can someone email me and I will give them her email address so they can contact her and sort this out. She is very knowledgeable about the Livingstone's of Murray River and has published a couple books about the family of Donald Livingstone of that community.

Hi Barry,

PM me or email me (ksm6 -at- cornell -dot- edu) if Kathleen continues to have problems. We had straightened it out and so I am not sure why she is having problems again. :?: She has registered twice already, apparently. I think she might be trying to re-register and it doesn't let you re-register with the same email address. If she needs access again I can always re-set her password.

Just have her email me and we can straighten it out.

Ok Kyle

Maybe she had gotten it resolved then....I will check. Last I heard she couldn't get in and when I didn't see any posts I thought she was still having problems. I will get in touch with her to see if she is able to access the forums.
