Hi Barry;

I am a curling enthusiast. I always watch. I hope you can get away to the Archives for a while. I was just curious who this Donald Livingston was. I couldn't find him in the Births. I hope you have a great time in Halifax; I wish I was there. Hurry hard.

Regards;

Hi Barry,

What a coincidence that John's wife is a Gillis like his mother Catharine.

Hi All

Home today and tomorrow, so I will try to catch everything up.

I didn't get to go to the archives in Halifax. It was just the wrong time to go, while I was there.

I did get back to the PEI Archives and will try to fill everyone in on what I found.

I went through all of the land conveyances from 1873 to 1900, noting all of the Livingstone's in those documents. I copied anything that I thought was of interest, so here is what I found. PS I have some wills too. Oh.....I also came across some death certificates, but I ran out of time to check them.

Conveyances 1873-1900

- In Lot 64 John Livingston sold land on Gray's Road to Thomas Hooper

- Lot 64 -Margaret and Duncan Livingston sold land to Contorey McLure. Margaret is the widow of John Livingston of High Bank. They had children John, Catherine, Mary, Duncan and wife Mary, Flora and husband John Stewart, and Margaret, wife of Thomas Hooper.

- Lot 64 - Samuel of Litle Sands, and his wife Mary sold land to Ambrose Horton. The witness on this document was Donald Lamont. An interesting note is a Lamont man was a witness when my GG Angus was married.

- Lot 53 - John Livingstone of Cardigan Bridge was a Mail Driver. This was a converance to an Eliza McDonald and there was mention of a Mary being the widow of John McDonald, but I couldn't figure out the relationship to them.

- Lot 64 - John Livingstone conveyed to Duncan Livingston. Margaret was the widow of John Livingstone. Children were Flora married to John Stewart who died previous to 1883, Duncan who was a farmer, Augus died before 1883 and was not married, Mary married Donald Augus McMillan, a carpeneter from Cambridge Massachusetts, Kate married Anson Burlingame Knights, an accountant from Cambridge Massachusetts, John was from Cambridge PEI and was a farmer, Donald was a farmer, and Margaret married Thomas Hooper, a shoemaker from Lynn Massachusetts.

- Lot 63 - Donald Livingston and wife Annie

Ok now I will start a new post with wills

1889 - Queens County - George Livingston - Brother Boyd - Wife Elizabeth - Children, William Boyd, James Albert, George Archibald, Jane Robertson, and Eva May

1888 - Charlottetown - Malcolm Livingston - Children, Barbara married Albert Home, and Mary - Mary had a daughter Bessie

1889 - Nine Mile Creek - Jennet Levingstone widow of Allan Levingstone - Allan is buried in the Canoe Cove Cemetery - Sons John Ewen and Allan - Jennet had brothers John and Charles McDonald

1901 - Donald Livingstone - Murray River - Daughter Holliday married George W. McKinnon

1901 - Clyde River - Margaret - Widow of John Livingstone - Daughter Mary Cameron and husband Angus Cameron - Son Duncan Livingston of Denver Colorado - Daughter Margaret Catherine Livingstone of Cambridge Massachusetts - Daughter Lillias Grant Holroyd Livingstone of Cambridge Massachusetts.

Next trip back I know there are death certificates for the following Livingstons, but this is as far as I got. All I have so far are first names of Livingstones. I don't know how I missed the death certificates before, but I did. The index microfilm for the death certificates is really hard to understand and it is in some type of special indexing system from that time, so it may take awhile to figure out how to find what I am looking for. I'm hoping there are more than the ones below, and not sure if it lists the father and mother.

John, Chas., Sophia, Archibald, Colin, Mrs. Archibald, John B., Catherine, George, Albert, and Donald. The most interesting ones for me will be the Catherine and the Colin. I'm hoping these are from my family.

Hi Barry,
Thanks for that.
I am certain that this information will prove helpful to any PEI Livingston descendants out there. We have one descendant of the Allan Livingston and his wife Janet of Queens County that you mentioned who has been in touch with us so he would be interested in that record if he has not seen it already.

Hi All

Found this mention on Donald Livingston, the school teacher in Cavendish. It says he was from West River. I know we have discussed him in this thread recently.

In the will of Donald Livingstone who died 1901 in Murray River you say that Holiday married George McKinnon.
She went by name Hilda and she married James M McKinnon born 1865.
They went west and he died in a hotel fire where he worked.
I have now found all the children of Donald and Ann Livingstone. They ahd a large family.
Another letter I noticed spoke of a McClure. The actual name was Cartney McClure who had a brother Gavin, I believe. He may have connected to our family as Donald and Ann had a child Cartney Livingstone who died as a child and a grandchild Gavin McClure Livingstone

Hi All

At work, but not alot of time. Looks like James Livingston, the son of Donald Livingston of Murray River died at sea. His mother is Ann Wheeler from Murray River and Donald her husband was originally from Nine Mile Creek, or at least they were married there, which gives a connection to Nine Mile Creek. Kay Lamb doesn't have a record saying where James' widow went. This may be one of the pieces of the puzzle where Catherine or Ann came from. This would be a huge connection with Donald Livingston of Murray River with the Mull River Livingstons if it pans out.

You should never write something without checking the records first. I made a mistake. I said Donald Livingstone had a grandchild Gavin McClure Livingstone but his name was Gavin McClure Murdock son of George and Ann Livingstone Murdock of Murray River, PEI.
Next to Donald in Murray River was a Cartney and Gavin McClure. I do not know where these names came from in our family.
