These are all the John's I found listed for the period 1720 - 1730; in addition most, if not all of the parents of these John's are listed and in some cases their wives are named. For instance; the parent's of John b Mar 14, 1728 Beath, Fife were James b about 1699 and Elizabeth Nelson b about 1703.

Hi Roberta,

Given that East Lothian, MId Lothian are adjacent to the County of Fife, it is possible that some of these Livingston families from these three lowland Counties may share the same ancestors. Definitely will be interesting to see if we can someday prove this to be the case. And of course the other essential question is what if any connection do they have to old aristocratic lowland Livingston families at Callendar and Linlithgo that at one time lived in Stirlingshire.
