Yes this Canadian Doctor is indeed related to John Livingstone (1811-1899) of Listowel, Ontario, Canada older brother of the famous Dr. David Livingstone missionary and explorer. It is probably a little known fact that John olderbrother of Dr. David and Reverend Charles Livingstone settled in Ontario, Canada in the 1840's. Dr. Livingstone continued to correspond with brother John while in Africa and I have in my posssession copies of some of the last letters David wrote to him addressed to John of Listowel,Ontario.

Our DNA Project Livingstone is also descended from John Livingston senior's son John Livingstone Jr. of Listowel. His grandfather actually. Dr. David Rowland Livingstone born 1878 is actually our David's Uncle I just realized. Far out. David's father Henry and Dr. David Rowland Livingstone were brothers.

Just occurred to me Dr.David Rowland Livingstone's middle name is a clever one. You see Rowland may well refer to John Rowland alias H.M. Stanley born John Rowland in Wales and later lived in the States becoming an employee of the New York Herald and explorer. Now I would hazard a guess that most people were not aware that Stanley was not his real name.The only reason I know this is that I stumbled upon it when doing a bit of reading on Stanley. I wonder why they did not just call him David Stanley Livingstone?
