Hi Greg,
That Livingston book published in 1910 that focuses on the ancestry and family of the Robert Livingston of Livingston Manor, NY is especially interesting.
There are a few Livingstons in the DNA project who believe they are descended from the original Robert Livingston of Livingston Manor, in the then Province of New York mentioned in that book. I have not seen detailed information on their ancestral line, but it would be interesting to trace their descent from Robert Livingston. I know that some of them seem to be connected to the Clermont, Columbia County, Ny Livingston family connected to Robert Livingston the elder, but it would be helpful to have more genealogical info to better understand the precise connection. Just to confuse things Robert Livingston apparently had a nephew Robert son of his brother James join him in America. So there could be descendant of this other Robert out there today as well. Robert the Elder's father REV. John Livingston of Ancrum, Scotland was exiled in the time of the restoration of Charles II to Holland and as his result his son Robert became fluent in Dutch which must have been useful to him when he later settled in the then Province of the New York where there were colonists some of whom were of Dutch origin. He received a very large land grant and Palentine German refugees settled on part of it in the early 1700's.

regards,

Donald
