Hi Donald,

If you scroll down to 1840, you'll find John & Margaret leaving for Canada, presumably from Colonsay, had a look at marriages for both Jura/Colonsay & Skye, found nothing, so far at least. It appears there are very few surviving records for Skye,

John.

Hi John,

This is more Barry's area of interest being from Prince Edward Island, Canada and descended from a Livingston family that lived both Nova Scotia and PEI, but as there are a signficant number of Mull Livingstons that settled in Prince Edward Island and even more in Nova Scotia in the early 1800's worth posting this information on this High Bank, PEI family group as we did get contacted by one descendant a few years ago and other might be out there. This family is only one from Colonsay that I am aware of Livingston ancestry that settled in PEI in before 1850 but there might be another Livingston family. It is unfortunate that the Colonsay parish records do not tell us more.

The eldest son of John Livingston Sr. and his wife Margaret (Ann) McLeod of High Bank, Lot 64, Kings County, PEI was Duncan Livingston born abt. 1841 in PEI and died in 1887 at High Bank. Duncan Livingston married Annie Mclean Aug. 19, 1863
In the 1881 Census Duncan Livingston age given 40 is living with his wife Ann and son John D. Livingston age 6 and Daniel D. Livingston age 2 in High Bank. Also living elsewhere in High Bank is Duncan Livington's widowed mother Margaret Livingston age 67 and her son John Livingston age 29 and her son Donald Livingston age 27.

regards,

Donald
