Mull Location Index

Post by Canadian Livingstone »

Hi John,
This Mull Location index and Map has been very helpful to me in my efforts to become better acquainted with some of long gone tenant communities that once existed in great numbers scattered throughout the Isle of Mull. When going through the old Parish records with parishes in Mull and elsewhere in Western Argyll one inevitably finds with the original entries Scottish gaelic names of settlements and with a confusing variety of spellings. This Mull location index helps with that as well.
You are no doubt familiar with this helpful search index and accompanying detailed Mull location grid map useful when trying to identify and locate the location of these old Mull settlements where Livingston tenants and cottars once resided. Kudos to the folks at Mull Genealogy for putting this together a number of years now. Great for anyone trying to identify the spelling of and the finding the location of some of the old Mull Settlements where some of our Mull LIvingstons were residing according to the 18th and 19th century parish records of Mull.
