Hi Beth,
The gentleman who did the test several years ago now and his sister are direct descendants of Duncan livingston b. in 1848 at Bonshaw, Lot 30, Queens County, PEI and his wife Bessie Taylor. Later Duncan and family lived in Moncton, New Brunswick where he died in 1916.

Duncan Livingston was the son of John Livingston b1814 and Peggy McDougall who by the 1840's was located at Bonshaw, Lot 30, Queens County, PEI> John was the son of Donald Livingstone Jr. b.abt. 1780 at Morvern, Argyll and Flora McPhail. Donald Jr. arrived in PEI in 1806 with his Father Donald Livingstone Sr. b. 1750, his Mother Mary and his brothers Duncan, John, Alexander and a sister. Donald Livingston Sr. and his sons located firstly on Nine Mile Creek. Lot 65, Queens County, PEI. By 1807 Donald Livingston Jr. and wife Flora McPhail had located at Lot 31 Dog (Clyde) River, Queens County, PEI. Donald Jr was of course your ancestor John Livingston's younger brother.

Not all of the marriage records of the children of Donald Livingston Sr. b1750 of Nine Mile Creek, Lot 65 Queens County, PEi survive. Your ancestor's brother Donald Livingston Junior's from 1803 while he was still residing in Argyllshire, Scotland does however.

I sent away for very sharp and legible certified copies of the original marriage record of Donald Livingston Jr. and his wife Flora McPhail several years ago, as verification of the Morvern, Argyll origins of Donald Livingston Jr. of Dog (Clyde River) Lot 31, Queens County, PEI from the General Register Office located in Edinburgh, Scotland. The detailed 1803 Church of Scotland marriage info stated:

" Donald Livingston from Morvern and Flora McPhail of Ardmore married April 26,1803 Kilninian and Kilmore, Parish, (Mull) County of Argyll"

At the same time I also sent away for certified copies of my Great-great-great grandfather Miles Livingston's marriage record and secondly that of the ancestor of my Livingston cousins's closest Familytree DNA match to confirm and provide proof of Morvern ancestry of both.

" Miles Livingston and Janet Livingston both natives of Morvern and passengers aboard the Schooner Staffa were registered for marriage and were married and sailed for (British North) America." Married June 20, 1812 Bowmore Church of Scotland, Kilarrow Parish, Isle of Islay, Argyll."
Following the arrival at Sligo, Ireland via the Staffa Schooner, Miles and his second wife sailed on June 24, 1812 via the Robert Taylor a Hudson Bay Company vessel used by Lord Selkirk for transporting his settlers and hired servants to British North America on their way to his new settlement at Red River in what was then part of Hudson Bay Company Territory.

" John Levingston from Morvern and Catharine Campbell of Teang,(Mull) married January 22, 1805 Parish of Kilninian, (Mull) County of Argyll"
In the 1820's John and Catharine Livingston and their children settled in Inverness County, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia

regards,

Donald
