Donald,

The above links are all connected with Ben Vheir House, the first one was written in the 1700's, mentions Mull, Lismore, Ben Vheir, (presumably the mountain/large hill).

No luck as yet with e-mail,

John.

Hi John,
Thanks for more info regarding the Ben Vheir Livingstons.
The 1760 brief visit and description of significant sites of interest on the Isle of Lismore is also worth checking out. I think it was page 90 or 190 as I recall or around there in that old book from 1760 you located.

regards,

Donald

Hi John,

Just to recap. the info on the family

Donald Livington m. Annie McLean in Glasgow on Jan 5, 1886

Children according to birth records were:

1. Donald (David) Livingston b. Dec. 6, 1886 at Ben Vear, Duror District, Argyll Parents listed as Donald Livingston joiner and Annie McLean

2. Lachlan Livingston b. Oct. 29, 1889 Ben Vear Ballachulish, Argyll Parents listed as Donald Livingston joiner and Annie McLean

4. Catharine Livingston b. abt. 1895 or 1896 (Not listed in birth records but in 1901 Census)

5. John Livingston b. 1898 or 1899 at Ben Vear House (Not listed in birth records but in 1901 Census)

According to 1901 Census Donald and family are residing in the area of Ben vear house

Have not seen the 1911 Census info but it is known from Donald Livingston's British Army document of August 24, 1916 that son Donald David is enlisting in the Army Service Corps Mechanical Transport. He states his father's name is Donald Livingston His brother Lachlan Livingston according to his military Attestation document of January 12, 1915 is joined the Royal Corps of Engineers. He gives his place of residence as Benveir House, Ballachulish and that his father is Donald Livingston.

In 1924 Donald Livingston having survived the War arrives in Canada with his wife Jean Currie. On his entry record into Canada it is recorded that his father is Donald Livingston of Benveir House so this confirms that the father the elder Donald Livingston born in 1856 is still residing in the area of Benveir House.
