Hi All;
Between 1869 and the early 1930s, over 100,000 children were sent to Canada from Great Britain; during the child emigration movement.
Listed below are some of the Livingstones who were sent to Canada.
Arthur age 14, 1888. Ship-Polynesian. Destination Halifax. Dr. Barnardos party. Arthur is the only Livingstone of a party of 205 males to Halifax.
Hugh age 17, 1895. Ship-Siberian Glasgow to Brockville, Ontario. 138 boys, Mr. & mrs. John Thomson and Alexander Burgess; in charge. Mr. Quarries party.
Jack age 15, 1891. Ship Liberian Glasgow to Halifax. Party Quarries, Bridge-of Weir. Mr. Burgess and Mr. Quarries in charge of Party.
Harry Lavingston age 17. Ship Dominion 1896.

An interesting chapter in the story of British emigration to Canada that many Canadians are not aware of.

Joseph age 12. Ship Tunisian 1900 via Liverpool. Destination Stratford, Ontario. MacPhersons House of Industry, London. Mr. Merrys Home, Stratford.
George age 11. Ship Corsican 1910 Liverpool to Knowlton, Quebec.

Clarke age 15. Ship Royal Edward via Avonmouth August 1913.
John L. age 17. Ship Southwark 1905, Liverpool June 1905. Dr. Barnardos party. Destination Russell, Manitoba. 35 boys to the Russell Farm, Russell, Manitoba. Part of a larger Barnardo party, most to Toronto.
R. 14 male. Ship Prussian 1871 liverpool to Bellville, Ontario. 102 young people, mostly boys, with Annie McPherson.

Party: Dr. Barnardo`s, destination Toronto. 163 children in Dr. Barnardo`s Party, 162 Boys and 1 Girl to Toronto. Five boys were crossed off the list as not belonging to Dr. Barnardos Party and two boys were added without ages.

With so much poverty among our people it is not surprising to find so many Livingstons included in these lists.
