Hi Roberta,

Nice work. I am starting to take a better look at the lowland Livingstons before 1715 and after and see if we can possibly sort out any remnants of the old lowland LIvingston families from highland Livingstons migrating from the Argyll into the lowland counties. In the case of Perthshire there were old Livingston families living there but we have also found as in the case of Suzanne's ancestors in the early 1800's Maclea Livingstons of highland origin residing in Perthshire so it remains a monumental project to identify some of many LIivngston families that show up in the records in the lowlands after the 1715 Rebellion.

Hi Donald;

Well, we know that Suzanne's 5th ggrandfather Neil and gggggMother Margaret were husband and wife and having 4 children in the Port of Monteith up to 1799. Neil was born 1769 and Margaret Woodhouse was b 1773. What we don't know is where Neil originated.
Suzanne's DNA is a, somewhat, close match to ours. Margaret's parents were Ralph c Oct 8, 1732 born Carriden, West Lothian and Margaret c Mar 28, 1773 of Falkirk, Stirling and Margaret was born in Falkirk.
As Andrew has said that there is another male line that he thinks originated in Clackmannan-shire.
