Harrison Lincoln Livingstone, Marble Mountain, Cape Breton
Roberta sent these along and I've added them to the Gallery. Some very interesting information for anyone researching this family or these men. I don't know the source (newspaper) for this clipping.

Hi Kyle
That is very interesting. My family here on PEI attest to the fact that Colin Livingstone, my descendent was from Marble Mountain, but it was called that till later in years. Dr. Jim St. Clair says these were the Livingstone's of Skye Mountain. A very interesting find! Do you know where Harrison's family is? There are no more Livingston's on Skye Mountain. I would be interested in anything else you have on these families.

Now I'm getting a little confused. These men were Boularderie Livingstone's. Just to confirm......how did Harrison end up at Marble Mountain? Roberta and Donald can you shed any light on this?
My Colin had a son named John and his wife's name was Kitty. He was a stone cutter. I wonder if he still lived in the Marble Mountain area and in 1891 he came to PEI for a short period of time. 1891 is around the same time that John's mother passed the farm in Forest Hill over to John's brother Angus, my GGGrandfather. John is in the PEI census in 1891, but a stone cutter is not a trade that would have any use on PEI since all stone is sedimentary rock.

Hi Barry;
Brilliant! Thank you, Barry. I found a 'flicker' picture of H. L.'s homestead, William Livingstone and Sarah MacLean. He had the home renovated, in the sixties; 1966 I believe. But, I can't find the picture now. Marble Mountain just ran out of the good stuff, however, there is a building in Halifax that is made entirely out of the marble from Marble Mountain.
Maybe you can find that picture of H. L and his homestead - renovated, Barry. Your research is greatly appreciated, thanks again.
Regards;
Roberta

I have no more information, but I'm glad you found the original, which gives a fuller picture!
The picture for you maritime Livingston(e)s is sure complicated--but there are a lot of sources out there with good information, it seems, if you know where to look!

Re: Harrison Lincoln Livingstone, Marble Mountain, Cape Breton
Hi All
Working nights this week so I will see what I can find. Interestingly there was a marble company on PEI, in lot 54. Stephen Livingston, an assistant, worked there and he made 300 dollars per year. It was around the same time as the Marble Mountain quarry. I suspect that is where the marble came from, but I have not been able to find any note about it. Looks like they brought lime to the Island from Marble Mountain for fertilizer, and likely marble too. This would have come over on ships and makes a strong connection between the two areas, where people could move back and forth with ease I would think.

Found this too. Looks like another claim to David Livingstone. Has this been proven?
