Hi Kyle,
Yes it is a great book isnt it. Not much on highland Maclea Livingstons but some great detailed research on the Stewarts of Appin. Probably the best book available for anyone associated with the Stewarts of Appin or just wanting to know more about this clan which were prominent in Western Argyll and to whom Maclea Livingstones s served under in 1689, 1715 and 1745-46 when the Appin Stewarts raised a regiment. The Appin Stewarts seem also to have been years earlier at the Battle of Pinkie in the 16th century between England and Scotland and the Lowland Livingston family were also involved and took some casualties however I cannot say for certain that highland Macleas joined the Appin Stewarts at that battle though they could well have. In the 1500's and 1600's highland Macleas took up arms with their neighbouring clansmens the MacDougalls against the Campbells.

regards,

Donald
