Wilsons and Macleas?

Post by Andrew Lancaster4 »

I might have asked this before, but what could link Wilson's and Macleas. I have been interested in the question since the DNA "family" of my Livingstones includes 2 different Wilson families as well as McClays and a McLane. But I also just noticed on Rob's webpage where he looks for the closest matches of the Lismore Livingstones, that their closest match on slow markers is also a Wilson? Regards Andrew

Dear Andrew, I suspect that some Wilson's may be derived from Mac'Uilleim = McWilliam or variants thereof. All the best. Grant South
