John Livingstone 1771

Post by Amanda Nield »

Hello, this is my first posting and I am new to this site. I am currently researching my family tree and have traced my Grandads line to a John Livingstone, who was, it seems born or Christened in 1771 at Kilmore-parents Neil Levingstone and Katherine McGolorey.

To me it looks like you've found a match! Spelling variations are par for the course in that period. Is there any chance we could entice your family into our DNA project, which is trying to go beyond the fragmentary records, and understand more about the clan's inter-relatedness? This are very simple genealogical tests, which we organize privately as a group. Tell me if you are interested, because families like yours with links back to known families in the clan homeland are particularly exciting for the project. Best Regards Andrew Lancaster

Im sure my family would be interested in the DNA tests, though males in my branch are a little thin on the ground. I would love to find out more about the links, so I will ask around. I take it any males will be fine for this...such as a cousin. Thanks

Any male with the Livingston/e surname will do!
