Port of Monteith Livingstons

Post by D.W.Livingston »

Hello Suzanne, How far back is it that you can trace it to the Port of Monteith? from the map it appears that Perthshire is on the brink of the highlands, and it is possible that your part of the family moved down from the highlands during one of the turbulent times but I can not say for sure. Can anyone else on th eboard give more information? Also I am looking for links between the highland and lowland clans. Does anyone know of any books or stories that join the families in issues or common causes besides what I found at: http://www.macleay.cncfamily.com/account_of_mclea.htm Thank You. Hi Suzanne, I have been to Port of Menteith (Menteith and Monteith spellings both are used).
