Doesn't surprise me at all. Stewarts of Appin were about 800m across the water from Lismore. My father always used to say that we were "clansmen" of Stewart of Appin; this was the little he had heard from his own father. Funnily, my brother has an uncanny facial resemblance to Rod Stewart the singer (same hands, same sort of physique). He'd wear a wig as a youngster and ham it up at fancy dress parties. A Stewart woman (Catherine) married into my Livingstone line in the 1800's.
