Hello Maryanne,

Tried to find your Hele Livingston In Massachusetts for the 1920 census. The only one I found was very difficult to read but I think you will know if this is her or not.

1920 census for Hampden county, Springfield, Mass.

Helen Livingstone sister,age 77, b. Pennsylvania , single

You will have to let me know if this is the helen you are looking for.

You didn't say where Helen was born. So I'm not sure about this info.

Yes we should point out at this time that Alexander Livingston b.1814 and his wife Annie Livingston of Whycocomagh also had a son named Duncan.
From the 1871 Census Whycocomagh family living at Skye Mountain, Whycocomagh
ALexander Livingston age 56 born Scotland born 1814
Ann age 45 born PEI
Catharine age 27
Duncan 25 married February 2 1871 to Catharine Morrison
Dougall 20
James 16

John Hugh Livingstone born July 29, 1874.

father; Duncan Livingstone-Miner-Vale Colliery. Mother Mary McDonald, Vale Colliery. Duncan and Mary were married May 10, 1874 at Vale Colliery. Informant, Hugh Livingstone.

Marriage is registered at New Glascow.

John Livingstone 1773 - 1840 from the Isle of Mull, to Port Hood, Inverness County, NS. 1803. Settled Mull River, 1824.

Weaver. Married Catherine Campbell children: John Jr., Neil , Flora, Grace, b. Nova Scotia, Ann, Mary, and Allan.

I said there were no Duncan Livingstones born 1841 or 1842 in the Canadian census of 1881. Actually there is one Duncan Livingston born 1841 in Prince Edward Island married to an Annie Livingston and family and living on Prince Edward Island. Not the Duncan Livingston we are looking for however.

Hi Roberta,

John Livingston settled at Judique and his son Malcolm can be found in the later census records at nearby Port Hood. Because of the close proximity of the Judique Livingstons and the Mull River one on the coast and one farther east there is has some effort to link the two perhaps recorded in a Scottish Canadian encyclopedia but they are actually two separate families not living in the same area but both in Inverness County. The John Livingston at Judique whose son lived at Port Hood was married to a McDonald I think and unlike the Livingstons in Mull River who attend the Presbyterian church or churches in the area John and his wife were a Roman Catholic family. I will see what have on this Judique, Inverness County John Livingston and get back to you.

Hi Roberta,

I have John Livingston b.1774 according to family originated in Fort William, Scotland settled at Judique on the coast of Inverness County, Cape Breton in the year 1803 and married into the MacDonald family there marrying Isabel McDonald. I dont think he had a large family and I am only aware of one son Malcolm who appears in the later census records at nearby Port Hood. A descendant of John Livingston and Isabel MacDonald is presently participating in our Maclea Livingstone DNA Project I believe and is a close match to our group within the Parker Livingston DNA group

I may have stated that John Livingston who married Catharine Campbell was born in 1773 earlier in posting by mistake but Dr. St. Clair has b.1775 and died 1840 a deathdate I have seen from a second source. Angus Livingston of Boularderie I believe was born in 1773. and this John Livingston that was married to Isabel McDonald was born in 1774. Seems weird that these numbers are all so close but I think that is just coincidence as the info is all from different sources.
