No problem. The Culsamond marriage records also indicate that a James Livingston married in 1766 so could be an older brother or cousin of your George Livingston that married Janet Anderson in Culsamond in 1772.

hi Di, i will check my records when i rturn home next week. However i believe william is my great uncle Bill who farmed near Hunterville. If it is this person (and that dates sound right), Bills farm was taken over by my uncle (David) upon Bills death and my father (Tony) took over the neighbouring farm from my grandfather (Hector). Davids son Ian has now taken over the farm from David.

Does any of this sound familiar?

The family you mentioned, from the 1841 Census, are the children of George Livingston and Anne Wilson m Nov. 10, 1822.
Also, James Livingston m Janet Webster Jan 3, 1766 at Culsalmond.

George c Feb 18, 1776, Culsalmond, Aberdeen s/o James. There is no Mother listed. Although, Mother is either Janet Webster or Barbara Thomson.

Yes I see now that George Livingston born in 1772 at Brankanentemhad? in Culsamond Parish is the son of George Livingston and that the George Livingston born in 1776 at Sanchenloan, Culsamond Parish is the son of James Livingston. There was also a William Livingston born April 21, 1772 at N. Ledingham, Culsamond Parish to an Alexander Livingston. I agree James Livingston is almost certainly James Livingston married to Janet Webster and George Livingston Sr. of Culsamond Parish is probably the George Livingston married to Janet Anderson.
